The mouth is an important organ with many different functions. It is also prone to a variety of medical and dental disorders.
Our office offers oral pathology services to diagnose & treat diseases affecting the oral and maxillofacial region. Our oral surgeons can take a small sample of abnormal tissue and then send it for laboratory testing for identification. Some lesions can be managed medically or entirely removed by one of our oral surgeons.
Any alteration in this appearance could be a warning sign for a pathological process. The following can be signs of the beginning of a pathologic process or cancerous growth:

Reddish patches or whitish patches in the mouth.

A sore that fails to heal and bleeds easily.

A lump or thickening on the skin lining the inside of the mouth.

Chronic sore throat or hoarseness. Difficulty in chewing or swallowing.

INSURANCE
Roanoke Oral Surgery is in-network with several dental insurances carriers and with Medicare. Please call our office or your insurance carrier to find out if we are in-network with your carrier. All co-pays and unmet deductibles will be expected to be paid at the time of service. Any remaining balance after your insurance claims are processed is solely your responsibility.
