Dr. Parulis received his BA in Biology from Gettysburg College, where he was a 4-year member of the football team. He subsequently completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine at Rutgers University in Newark, NJ. Accepted for a Naval Scholarship, he entered military service immediately upon graduation and completed a General Practice Residency at the Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA. Dr. Parulis then served several years as the Dental Officer onboard the USS Tortuga, LSD 46, forward deployed to the Mediterranean Sea, Middle East and Coast of Africa.  Read more about Dr. Parulis' personal and surgical background below.

  • Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon on the cleft & craniofacial team at Roanoke Memorial Hospital
  • Served as Naval Dental Officer onboard the USS Tortuga

Following his operational tour of duty, Dr. Parulis completed his Residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, VA. Before being honorably discharged, he served onboard the USS Ronald Reagan, CVN 76, and as a staff surgeon for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program in Portsmouth, VA. Dr. Parulis has been practicing surgery in Roanoke since 2006. He is board certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. He is on staff at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, and on the teaching staff for the residency programs in General Dentistry and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

His clinical expertise and experience are extensive in bone and soft tissue grafting, implant reconstruction, reconstructive jaw surgery and cleft and craniofacial surgery. He is the Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon on the cleft and craniofacial team at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Dr. Parulis is married to his wife Lisa and has 2 daughters, Cassi and Gabbi. He is an avid outdoorsman who can be often found on the weekends at his farm in Botetourt.
