Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons have completed rigorous, hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training residencies after graduating from dental school. This highly specialized additional training includes experience in emergency medicine, general surgery, and anesthesiology, in addition to years of surgical experience dedicated to the hard and soft tissues of the face, mouth, and jaws.
